In this piece I wanted to capture a strong sense of atmosphere. 

The Quiet Sandpiper takes centre stage, standing alone on a rugged cliff as he gazes over the shoreline. To me, he evokes the image of a Scottish bagpiper – solitary, weathered, yet carrying a sense of tradition and majesty. The foreground is rich with rocky textures, contrasted by the deep, beautiful teal blues I so love.
